Individuals can signup to read for 15 minute increments between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 25-29. Military Appreciation Events at Saturday's Game

This year's Military Appreciation Day home football game is Saturday, Sept. 9, against UNLV. Military and military veterans are provided free tickets for themselves and immediate family members. Tickets can be picked up at the ticket booth on the west end of the Kibbie Dome starting at 2 p.m. and Dome doors open at 2:30. Pre-game activities begin at 1 p.m. in the Idaho Fan Zone and will include a visit by two Idaho Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopters, a small arms weapons static display by our Army ROTC, and a rock climbing wall for kids, all on the North Field and Track area adjacent to the Dome. Other activity is planned for inside the Fan Zone.

The University of Houston has put out a call for colleges to donate any surplus of shirts or gear for those affected by Harvey, and the Campus Visits Team is collecting donations of any sort for this effort. The most needed include: shirt, socks, shoes, pants, toiletries and sheets/blankets. The University of Idaho Research Park in Post Falls has several online courses focused on cybersecurity and ethical hacking. These courses are perfect for Idaho companies that have employees they would like to have further trained in these topics. The University is holding open labs for our cybersecurity module every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. for the months of September and October, starting on Sept. 12. The labs will be held at the University of Idaho Research Park in Post Falls. Free pizza will be available at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12. This will be a work-at-your-own-pace classroom setting with aides available for help. Once your employees feel comfortable they are able to continue the course online or come into the lab for additional help. These courses are free for Idaho employees. Explore the features of the Student Profile for yourself through the Faculty & Advisors tab, under the Student Information menu in VandalWeb. A User's Guide and Quick Reference Guide are available on the Office of the Registrar's website. The Student Profile shows student contact information, the student's photo, courses a student is registered in, prior schools attended, test scores, and includes the ability to search for a student by name, email or Vandal number, and more.

UI Facilities is pleased to report that the University of Idaho Swim Center renovation project is on time and the facility will reopen Monday, Sept. 18, as planned. Municipal Solid Waste Update for the University of Idaho

In 2014 the university went to a toter unit/compactor system for handling our Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generated here on campus. This has been a success, and greatly reduced our overall costs as well as allowing us to directly measure how much waste is generated yearly. One issue though needs to be reiterated. Read more

Construction Project Limits Access to Admin Building

This fall, access to the University of Idaho's Administration Building is limited because of an ongoing renovation effort. The building's front entrance and staircase will remain closed into November as crews work to restore and repair the historic structure and improve safety. Students and employees will be able to pass through the area from north to south to access the elevator, classrooms and offices.

Highway 95/Sweet Avenue: Expect traffic back-ups entering the university. The most significant impacts will occur Thursday, Aug. 17, and Friday, Aug. 18. Crews will block three Highway 95 lanes, leaving one lane open in each direction. Intersections and driveways will be temporarily closed during the work.
